String Quartet Wedding Music at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples
Some couples want modern pop. Some want classical.
And some want their wedding to sound like they just stepped into a glamorous cocktail lounge circa 1960.
For a recent wedding at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, Perle Noire Strings had the pleasure of performing as a string quartet for a couple who knew exactly what kind of atmosphere they wanted: timeless, romantic music inspired by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and the golden age of the American songbook.
Needless to say, we loved this one.
A Ritz-Carlton Naples Wedding with a Vintage Soundtrack
There is something about classic standards that translates beautifully to strings.
With two violins, viola, and cello, familiar songs take on an entirely different character. You still recognize the melodies immediately, but without vocals, the music becomes elegant background music that creates an atmosphere without overpowering the room.
For this Ritz-Carlton Naples wedding, the couple requested a repertoire filled with Rat Pack-era favorites and romantic standards, including music made famous by artists such as Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.
Think “Come Fly With Me.”
Think “Fly Me to the Moon.”
Think candlelight, cocktails, black tie, and the kind of music that makes you want to order a martini even if you don't drink martinis.
It was an absolutely perfect match for the setting.
Frank Sinatra on String Quartet? Absolutely.
One of our favorite things about performing wedding music is showing couples that a string quartet doesn't have to mean exclusively classical music.
Our violin, viola, and cello arrangements can completely transform familiar songs while keeping everything that made the originals iconic.
Frank Sinatra's repertoire works particularly well for strings. Songs like “Fly Me to the Moon” and “Come Fly With Me” have memorable melodies and sophisticated harmonies that sound fantastic when passed between the violin, viola, and cello.
The same is true of the timeless jazz standards associated with Ella Fitzgerald and other legendary performers of the era.
The result is music that feels nostalgic without feeling dated—and sophisticated without feeling stuffy.
Creating a Wedding Soundtrack That Actually Feels Like You
One of the things we encourage our couples to think about is not simply which songs they want played, but how they want their wedding to feel.
Romantic and cinematic?
Modern and unexpected?
Old Hollywood?
Italian summer?
Bridgerton-inspired?
Or perhaps—as with this Ritz-Carlton Naples wedding—a little bit of Sinatra, cocktails, and vintage glamour.
Once we understand the atmosphere a couple wants to create, we can curate wedding music around that vision.
A thoughtfully selected string quartet repertoire becomes part of the overall design of the event.
