I’m Jayne Bouchfaa—cellist, founder, and musical director of Perle Noire Strings. From our first conversation to the final note of your event, I remain personally involved in creating the experience.

Perle Noire was intentionally built differently from the traditional event-music model. I personally select the musicians for each ensemble, work directly with clients and planners, curate the repertoire, oversee event logistics, and for our signature large ensembles, perform alongside the musicians I hire.

If my name is attached to it, I want to be in the room.

I began playing cello at eight and trained extensively in orchestral and chamber music, including years with the Seattle Youth Symphony, summers at the Marrowstone Music Festival, and master classes with world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. My performance career has taken me throughout the United States and Europe.

But beautiful playing is only part of what makes an exceptional event.

Years of experience in the luxury wedding industry—and my previous career as an attorney—have shaped the way I approach every performance. I understand contracts, timelines, venue logistics, weather contingencies, amplification, planner communication, and all the details that should be handled long before your musicians play their first note.

My clients shouldn’t have to manage their musicians. That’s my job.

We curate repertoire, create bespoke arrangements, incorporate amplification when needed, and collaborate closely with planners to make the music feel like an intentional part of the celebration.
